The Northam Motorsports Complex incorporating Avon Valley Speedway features a high banked 400 metre dirt track, burnout pad and tractor pull/ sand drag strip. Future plans include adding a 1/8th mile drag strip and drift track.

Track Type: Purpose Built Dirt Oval Speedway Track

Public Liability Insurance Provider: BJS Insurance $20 million coverage.

Length: 400 metres; 19 metres wide on the straights, 22 metres on corners with major camber.

Surface: Rich clay mix.

Safety fence: Meets Cat 1 Speedway West track specs including a top 450mm over hang.

Lighting: Infield and Outer Light Poles, additional mobile lighting towers are used if required.

Burnout Pad: 30m x 18m concrete pad surround by barrier walls and spectator fencing.


There is concrete tiered grandstand seating located on the eastern corner and on the back straight. The rest of the straight has a large gravel spectator viewing  hill. No seating is available on front straight or in western corner.

Approx 800 people can fit on grandstand so far, please bring fold out chair if you wish to sit on the gravel bank

Full bar; by law no byo alcohol and no glass allowed. Eskys, bags etc. may be inspected.

New Toilets located on immediate entry into the spectator area, and in the pit area for competitors.

Food Vans will be in attendance to provide a variety of meals. Hot and Cold Drinks available at the Methanol Saloon.

No pets allowed except Guide Dogs.
